Originally from Mexico, Jaime and Alicia Santillan have resided in Amarillo for sixteen years. For six years they owned and operated two El Bracero restaurants. Braceros Mexican Bar and Grill in the Route 66 Historic District is their newest venture featuring a full bar for the first time. Braceros offers the largest seection of Tequila in Amarillo. Both Jaime and Alicia are highly trained in the preperation of fine Mexican cuisine and have many unique offerings.

Since 2008, the 6th Ave. Braceros has offered a "unique experience while serving the best authentic Mexican food available -- no Tex Mex" says Jaime. Jaime and Alicia totally revamped an old route 66 building with a truly mexican touch, concrete floor and all. It is rare to find such creative cuisine in this casual of an atmosphere

The business is totally family owned and almost totally family operated. You will find Jaime in the kitchen most evenings when he is not strolling the dining area to be sure everyone is well cared for and enjoy their dining experience.

Lunch special every day and Monday thru Thursday all day super specials are a bonus as is the live music on Friday and Saturday evenings.
